The purposes of this research were to study knowledge, practice, attitude and value in cardiovascular disease's patients in consuming lipid lowering dietary supplement products. The purpose of this study also to determine the relation between predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors concerning consuming lipid lowering dietary supplement products. Data were collected randomly from interviewing 385 patients who used to consume this products at least 1 month in Nakhon Pathom Hospital since October 2001-April, 2002. Data were analysed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi-square and t-test. The finding were summarized as follow 1. Predisposing factors were education and knowledge about products factors related to consume this products with statistical significance (p = 0.032 and p = 0.005 ). 2. Enabling factors were place of buying as department store, drug store factors related to consuming this products with statistical significance (p = 0.000 and p = 0.000 ) and choosing local made and import products related to consume this products with statistical significance (p = 0.000 and p = 0.000 ). 3. Reinforcing factors were choosing from advertisment at television and newspaper related to consume this products with statistical significance (p = 0.020 and p = 0.005 ). The application from this research was to find a suitable direction for consumer protection in lipid lowering dietary supplement for other group of patient.
